Why bother seeking purpose at all? Why not just go through life care-free. The truth is that most people simply cannot do that. We seek purpose. We observe life as a series of causes and effects. Things in the human realm often happen for a purpose and we look for one for ourselves.
I offer three general reasons why one might want to seek purpose in life: because we seem to need a purpose, because life is enjoyed more when it is seen as a journey along a path, and because we have to face the fact that our lives will end.
