Notes from "A Purpose Derived Life"

In the search for a life purpose (or purposes), I explore the possibility of deity as a source of inspiration. The problem with that is that there are so many ideas of what a deity is. Who is God? Each person can answer that question differently. Even members of the same spiritual practice can have different ideas of god. Think about Christianity alone. Wars have been fought over different views of God

In order to discuss inspiration through theology, we have to come to grips with these different concepts. I put forth the idea that deity has four main qualities: number, presence. relationship, and involvement.

I began today with the characteristic of number. Deity can be seen as a single concept and there are traditions that worship many gods. Some traditions see deity as many-in-one or as a single presence that exists within all things.
